Last month, our culture classes held a three-part moccasin-making activity with families. Rose Yazzie (Navajo Cultural Facilitator/ Educator) led participants through a step-by-step process of measuring their feet, sewing their moccasin parts together, and finishing with leather laces. View the photos of our youth making moccasins.
This month, we welcome Jacob Crane (Tsuut’ina Nation) to our culture classes to share cultural knowledge and songs. He will also be available to engage with youth and families who want to learn more about powwow drumming or grass dancing.
Classes will be held April 11, 18 and 25 for 3rd – 12th-grade Native youth.
