I'm honored to join the UICSL board. My background is in public health and medicine, and throughout my career I've been drawn to work that cares for both the individual and the whole community at once. That focus is exactly what drew me to UICSL.I've been energized by the growth of the clinic and the expansion of its public health programming, and I feel fortunate to be joining at such a meaningful moment. As I begin my term, I'm especially looking forward to learning more about the Native cultures UICSL serves and about Native communities more broadly. I come into this role as a learner first, committed to acting with thoughtfulness, integrity, curiosity, and care.Mostly, I'm thankful for the chance to be part of this incredible community and for the warm welcome I've received from everyone I've met.
