Vaccines are available for new and established UICSL clients or ANYONE living in the same household, 5 years of age or older.
Both Pfizer and Moderna are safe and effective vaccines against Covid-19 infections.
Pfizer has full approval for use in people > 16 years of age, and Emergency Use Authorization for people 12-15 years of age
It is a 2-dose series given 3 weeks apart that is 95 % effective against Covid-19 infection and 88 % effective against Covid-19 hospitalization
A third dose is recommended for people with specific immune suppressing conditions, like organ transplantation and given atleast 6 months after receiving the 2nd dose.
A booster dose has been approved for:
- people ages 65 and older
- residents of long-term care settings
- people 18-64 years of age with underlying medical conditions or whose occupations put them at high risK
- health care workers, teachers, etc.
