Primary Care & General Family Medicine

Whole-body wellness for our urban Native relatives. From routine physical check-ups to chronic condition management, our clinic stands ready to treat your entire circle with dignity, respect, and professional clinical expertise.

Strengthening General Immunity

In the wake of ongoing community health needs, defense against viral infections like COVID-19 remains a priority for urban Indigenous populations. Because chronic underlying health conditions can increase severity, establishing a baseline with a primary care provider ensures your body has the support it needs to fight off seasonal and infectious diseases.

Acute disease treatment, annual exams, preventive screenings, minor procedures, and ongoing physical wellness counseling

Womens Health Services

Dedicated care focused on honoring, protecting, and supporting the life-givers within our community circles. We provide sensitive, trauma-informed physical evaluations, screenings, and vital prevention strategies.

Honoring & Protecting Our Life-Givers

Regular cancer screenings save lives. Indigenous women face a disproportionate burden of advanced-stage cervical and breast cancer diagnoses, often due to historical gaps in screening access. Routine Pap tests and mammogram referrals at UICSL ensure early detection, keeping the pillars of our families protected.

Routine wellness checks, breast and cervical cancer screenings, family planning, and prenatal/postpartum health updates.

Nancy Pham, APRN (Life-Giver and family wellness specialist).

Pediatrics & Youth Wellness

Caring for our youth ensures the strength of our community for the next Seven Generations. We provide comprehensive childhood healthcare, immunizations, and routine check-ups tailored to guide our youth safely along their paths toward balanced, prosperous lives.

Protecting Our Sacred Future

Keeping up with childhood immunization schedules is one of the most powerful ways we protect our collective circle. Native children face historically disproportionate risks from vaccine-preventable respiratory illnesses like pertussis (whooping cough) and severe influenza. Timely check-ups give our little ones a strong, healthy foundation.

Well-child exams, childhood immunizations, developmental tracking, school and sports physicals.

Honoring Our Elders

At UICSL, our comprehensive clinical care honors our culture by safeguarding the keepers of our history, language, and traditional wisdom. We honor our elders by ensuring safety, independence, chronic condition tracking, and dedicated medical attention.

Nurturing the Keepers of Wisdom

Respiratory health is critical to preserving our living history. Native American elders experience significantly higher rates of hospitalization from pneumonia and complications of seasonal influenza compared to the general population. Annual protective screenings and vaccinations ensure our elders remain strong leaders of our families.

Comprehensive physical screenings, leading respiratory health checks, cognitive health reviews, mobility support tracking, and intensive medication therapy management.

Diagnostic Imaging

Utilizing advanced diagnostic imaging safely on-site to give our clinical providers clear answers quickly. This advanced system reduces external travel burdens and waiting times for your health journey.

Localizing Care for Long-Term Safety

On-site diagnostics drastically improve early intervention metrics. For Native populations managing advanced respiratory conditions or joint wear, having immediate access to low-radiation imaging ensures that bone, joint, or lung damage is identified and addressed before chronic pain limits daily community and cultural participation.

Low-radiation X-Rays, diagnostic imaging scans, and targeted structural assessments interpreted directly by your care team.

Managed by certified imaging technicians and supported across our primary clinical team.

Teleretinal Screenings

Specialized eye imaging capabilities directly integrated into your primary care path. By capturing precise retinal scans internally, we help safeguard your long-term vision against diabetes-related complications.

Safeguarding Vision Against Silent Hazards

Diabetic retinopathy is a leading, yet completely preventable, cause of blindness among Native American adults. Because diabetes affects our relatives at more than twice the rate of the general population, adding non-invasive teleretinal exams directly to your routine physical allows us to catch eye nerve changes before your vision is permanently impacted.

Non-invasive retinal photography, diagnostic eye scans, and automated, digital remote ophthalmologist diagnostic reviews.

Managed by certified imaging technicians and supported across our primary clinical team.

On-Site Medical Laboratory Testing

Quick, reliable laboratory analytics performed directly inside our clinic walls. Get precise diagnostic tracking for blood, metabolic, and wellness panels without ever leaving your care center.

Knowledge as a Catalyst for Healing

Early screening uncovers hidden health roadblocks. On-site laboratory analytics allow our team to perform immediate tests for lipid panels, kidney function, and underlying metabolic shifts that disproportionately influence Indigenous cardiovascular wellness, placing control over your numbers back into your own hands.

Diabetes Management & Education

Walking in balance with lifestyle health. We offer customized nutritional instruction, blood sugar evaluations, and deep community support paths designed to return health and strength back to your daily life.

Reclaiming Our Health Balance

Diabetes affects Indigenous communities at the highest rates of any ethnic group in the United States. Reclaiming our health means looking beyond clinical numbers to nutrition, movement, and stress reduction. Our certified specialists help you master A1C monitoring and lifestyle balances to prevent long-term kidney and cardiovascular strains.

Our psychiatric care services integrate professional clinical expertise with deep cultural empathy, providing comprehensive diagnostic assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and safe, supportive medication management along side Red Mesa, our Behavioral Health department to tailor specialized treatment for our urban Indigenous relatives.

Balancing Mind & Spirit

Historical and intergenerational trauma can leave deep, lasting imprints on the psychological well-being of our community. Reclaiming mental health balance is a profound act of resilience. Our specialized, trauma-informed psychiatric care treats mental wellness challenges not as a personal failure, but as a path toward community healing and restoration.

  • Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluations: Comprehensive, respectful mental health mapping to identify your clinical needs.

  • Prescription & Medication Management: Precise monitoring and adjusting of psychiatric medications to support stable recovery tracks.

Tyson Brinkerhoff, PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)

Native populations experience significantly higher rates of psychological distress, substance complications, and systemic violence due to historical displacement and socioeconomic gaps.

We honor your heritage by grounding behavioral recovery in community connection, proving that traditional resilience combined with clinical counseling builds an unbreakable shield with seamless collaboration between our Primary Care providers and Behavioral Health counselors to manage your entire wellness ecosystem.
