Nature is Calling! Get Out There and Enjoy it

If you love going out and about, enjoying nature and breathing in fresh air — yay! — this month is for you. 

National Great Outdoors Month makes its way onto our calendars every year in June. It reminds us to explore nature, take in the beauty and become one with the earth. After all, the importance of nature engulfs every aspect of life, to the mind, body and spirit.

Trees represent a source of life and healing. The cherry tree symbolizes birth, compassion and helps with digestion, while the elm is integral to gaining wisdom, strength and helps with wounds. But it’s not just in the trees that connect us to land.

The Medicine Wheel has been used by generations for health and healing purposes. It embodies the Four Directions, as well as Father Sky, Mother Earth and Spirit Tree. It signifies Earth’s boundary and all the knowledge of the universe. 

So — you may ask yourself — what specific things can I do to honor the trees and Medicine Wheel during Great Outdoors Month? Well, your chances for adventure are as numerous as the stars in the sky. Why? Because nature is not only endless, but priceless, too!
