Each month, the Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake highlights a dedicated team member who brings our mission to life. Our monthly spotlight shares the inspiring stories of UICSL staff members who work every day to strengthen Indigenous health, culture, and wellness.
Featured Team Member: Allyson Shaw (Shoshone/Paiute)
- Role: Behavioral Health Manager
- Background & Journey: Allyson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been with UICSL since 2019. She began her journey here as an MSW intern before graduating from the University of Southern California.
- Tribal Lineage: She is an enrolled member of the Te-Moak Tribe of Western Shoshone and also has Northern Paiute lineage.
- Commitment to Community: Allyson is deeply committed to serving The People alongside the many amazing practitioners at UICSL and supporting the behavioral health of the urban Native community.
