Announcing Our May 2026 Team Spotlight: Edwin Awinda

We are thrilled to present our May 2026 Team Spotlight, featuring Edwin Awinda, MSN, RN, A-GNP-C.

At the Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake, our mission is brought to life by the dedicated individuals who work every day to strengthen Indigenous health, culture, and wellness. This month, we celebrate Edwin’s incredible contributions to our clinical team and the community we serve.

Meet Edwin Awinda

Edwin is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical expertise. Since joining UICSL in December 2024, he has demonstrated a profound commitment to patient-centered care.

Edwin’s approach to medicine is holistic and inclusive, focusing on:

  • Evidence-based medical treatments

  • Traditional and alternative medicine integration

  • Preventative care through dietary and lifestyle interventions

Edwin earned his BSN from Weber State University and his MSN from the University of Cincinnati in 2017. He is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
