Urban Indian Center Fosters Community Health
with "Boo to the Flu" Success

The Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake (UICSL) celebrated another successful community health initiative this month with its annual “Boo to the Flu & Trunk or Treat” 2025 event. By combining vital health services with a festive, family-friendly celebration, UICSL created a welcoming and culturally-grounded space for Native families to receive no-cost flu vaccinations.

The event demonstrated UICSL’s ongoing commitment to removing barriers to healthcare and protecting the well-being of the urban Native population. Families enjoyed a safe and fun “Trunk or Treat” while taking the important step to protect their relatives, from elders to young children, ahead of the winter season. The positive turnout highlighted the community’s trust in UICSL as a core provider of holistic health and wellness services in Salt Lake City.
