At the Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake, our mission is brought to life by the dedicated team members who work every day to strengthen Indigenous health, culture, and wellness. This month, we are incredibly proud to feature Dr. Maggie Bale, MD, MPH in our June 2026 Monthly Spotlight!

About Dr. Maggie Bale

Dr. Maggie Bale is a pediatrician who provides exceptional care for children of all ages. Driven by a deep commitment to community wellness, her professional interests focus on:

  • Improving care for underserved populations.

  • Preventive pediatrics to help our youth thrive early on.

  • Medical education to foster the next generation of healthcare providers.

In addition to practicing here at UICSL, Dr. Bale sees pediatric patients at the University of Utah.

An Incredible Journey of Service

Dr. Bale brings a wealth of expertise and global perspective to our community. Her background includes:

  • Medical Training: She earned her medical degree from the University of Utah and completed her pediatric residency training there, as well as at Primary Children’s Hospital.

  • Public Health Background: Prior to medical school, she completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) at Emory University.

  • Global Service: She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Botswana, where she focused on vital HIV prevention programs for school-aged children.
