World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day is a celebration where people from all over the world and all walks of life come together to raise awareness of the disease. Join over one billion people in celebrating this year’s World Diabetes Day on November 14th and wear blue to show your support!

Every year, the World Diabetes Day focuses on a specific subject. This year, the theme is “Diabetes: Nurses Make the Difference.” The goal is to let people know the important role nurses play in helping those who live with diabetes. As the number of diabetes cases continues to go up across the world, nurses become more essential every single day.

Nurses do a lot more than diagnose diabetes early to make sure those who need help get it quickly. They also provide all kinds of training and support to help prevent further health complications. Nurses also work to prevent diabetes in their patients by educating them about decreasing their Type 2 risk factors, like heart disease and obesity.

Ways to support nurses and promote World Diabetes Day include:

Get out, get blue and get educating! Share the importance of nurses during World Diabetes Day!
