DESCRIPTION:Today\, May 5th\, the Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake joins communities across the nation to observe the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP). \nWe pause to honor the lives\, legacies\, and spirits of our missing and murdered relatives. This is a day for solemn remembrance\, but also a call for continued solidarity\, advocacy\, and action. \nStanding in Solidarity\nThe crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people impacts our families\, our neighbors\, and our entire community. We stand together to: \n\n\nHonor those we have lost and those who are still missing. \n\n\nSupport the families and survivors who carry the weight of these injustices. \n\n\nPray for collective healing\, strength\, and the restoration of safety. \n\n\nAdvocate for the justice and systemic changes necessary to protect our relatives. \n\n\nOur Commitment\nToday and every day\, we remain committed to being a space of support and a voice for our community.
